Keep up the great work! :)

Speaking of George Wallace, I happened to hear the following story on NPR the other day, and I thought you might find it interesting. It's about Wallace's speechwriter during his days as governor, and what he went on to do thereafter.

His name was Asa Earl Carter, and was responsible for writing the historic line that Wallace exclaimed, "I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever!"

Anyway, what happened next is something almost Andy Kaufman-like, so I'll let you read it for yourself. I hope you're doing well!

http://www.kalw.org/post/artful-reinvention-klansman-asa-earl-carterMitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05386041974443885499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4990596428793472494.post-12365745764194322862012-04-19T07:31:04.100-07:002012-04-19T07:31:04.100-07:00Napster and now youtube are changing music even mo...Napster and now youtube are changing music even more. No barriers to entry and an infinite audience.

couldn't agree more on your analyses above, but i will say kudos to Lynard Skynard for memorializing Duane Allman, who led the first successful racially integrated band, and we all love that solo in that memorial ie Free Bird.Larry Knoxnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4990596428793472494.post-74563463602698368342012-04-08T06:16:11.032-07:002012-04-08T06:16:11.032-07:00"Money, it's a hit. Later, radio stopped doing that in the '80's. And now, they're back to censoring that word. Really? One of the wonderful things about that song/album is that Dark Side has been around so long that our response is a Rorschach test for those in power (or think they have power).brewnernoreply@blogger.com
